The following morning was bright and sunny, and after breakfast they took their coffee out to a table on the terrace.

Harriet was reading her phone. “Maisie says there was a smattering of snow last night back home.”

Luke laughed. “Want me to take a picture of you sipping your coffee in the sunshine?”

She grinned and passed him the phone. As he aimed it at her, she crossed her legs, flashing a lot of thigh, and picked up her coffee cup. Holding out her pinkie, she smiled brightly. Luke took the photo, and immediately flashed back to the photo Maisie had taken of Harriet sucking Noah’s cock.

As he handed her phone back, he tried to keep his voice casual. “Did you ever send Maisie the photo she took of you with Noah?”

“No, of course not.” She stared at him like he was mad. “What’s more, as soon as I’d sent it to you, I deleted it. I think you should delete it from your phone as well.”

“Do I have to?”

“Yes! I don’t want to run the risk of anyone else seeing it.”

“Okay.” He hesitated with his next question but asked it anyway. “Does Maisie know what we’re hoping to do tonight?”

“No. I told her that since we have a busy few weeks coming up with the new contract and possibly moving house, we were taking this break to recharge our batteries.”

He smiled, pleased. “What do you want to do today?”

“Take things easy because I’ll be in for a busy night.”

Chuckling, he nodded. “I’m going in for another coffee. Do you want anything?”

“Orange juice, please.”

As he made his way back to the terrace with the drinks, he could see that a man had stopped at their table and was talking to Harriet. When Luke got outside, he saw the hotel logo on the guy’s polo shirt.

Harriet smiled as Luke approached. “Hey, honey. I was just asking—” she peered at the young man’s name tag “—Carlos about the night life, and he tells me there’s lots to do on a Saturday night.”

The guy nodded eagerly. “Go anywhere, lots of music and dancing. Happy Hour starts at six.”

“Ooh, six sounds like a very happy way to spend an hour.”

The guy smiled and nodded before walking away.

Luke doubted he’d understood Harriet’s joke. He placed their drinks on the table and sat down. “I’ve a good mind to tell Carlos to bring five of his friends up to the room so they can show you that six in an hour might not make you that happy after all.”

She picked up her orange and swung her hanging leg. “Want to bet?”

He ignored her. “I think a walk along the beach would be a nice way to spend an hour this morning.”

“That’s fine with me. Can we get some lunch in a bar, like yesterday? I enjoyed that.”

Once they’d finished their drinks they made their way out of the hotel grounds and onto the path that ran along the shoreline. They headed south, away from the busier part of the beach, then walked through the dunes and down to the water’s edge.
